In 2025, Tasmeem Tashkeel partnered with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority to deliver” Roots“, a landmark public sculpture by Emirati artist Azza Al Qubaisi.
Manufactured in the United Arab Emirates from stainless steel and mild steel, Roots features organic, flowing forms that symbolize the interconnectedness of heritage, identity, and homeland. Inspired by the palm and Ghaf trees enduring emblems of the UAE’s natural landscape the sculpture reflects resilience, continuity, and deep cultural grounding. Through industrial materials shaped into nature-inspired forms, the work creates a compelling dialogue between tradition and modernity, a defining characteristic of Al Qubaisi’s artistic language.
Tasmeem Tashkeel played a pivotal role in the realization of the project, providing comprehensive art and design consultancy, developing the turn-key design solution, and producing detailed 3D renderings and schematic designs to ensure technical precision and artistic integrity. The sculpture was fully manufactured in the UAE, reinforcing a commitment to local production and craftsmanship.
