A floating gallery blending Tanween furniture and historic Emirati photography to celebrate the UAE’s maritime craftsmanship and heritage.
Tasmeem Tashkeel provided expert art consultation for Gulf Craft, curating a distinctive visual experience aboard one of their luxury yachts docked at Port Rashid. The installation featured iconic images of Port Rashid from the 1980s, captured by Emirati artist Jassim Al Awash, creating a dialogue between the location’s historic past and its contemporary role as a hub of maritime innovation.
This project was presented as part of the event “Crafting Legacies, Honoring the Past, Crafting the Future”, which celebrated the words of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the UAE’s rich heritage of craftsmanship and creativity. Over two days, four yachts were docked at Port Rashid, each showcasing products from different brands. Tasmeem Tashkeel contributed by presenting several pieces from the Tanween Collection alongside a specially curated selection of images and artworks.
Through this collaboration, Tasmeem Tashkeel transformed the yacht into a floating gallery, honoring the UAE’s cultural legacy while celebrating its creative potential and maritime heritage.
